UAE’s Alia Abdulsalam participates in Norway’s Formula 4 Championship
Abu Dhabi, July 5 (WAM) – Emirati racer Alia Abdulsalam, representative of the “2050” team, will participate in the Norwegian Formula 4 Championship, which will be held from August 2 to 4.
Alia will conclude the trial phase at the Abu Dhabi Marine Club next week, in preparation for traveling to Oslo on July 25 to participate in the tournament.
Contestant Alia Abdul Salam praised the efforts of the UAE Marine Sports Federation in providing a stimulating environment for preparation, and all the requirements supporting her presence in the Norwegian Championship, as the first Emirati girl to participate in this type of racing, after obtaining the international driving license officially in powerboat races in various championships and participating in “Formula 4” competitions.
Abdul Salam, 23, explained that the ambitions of Emirati girls are great thanks to the tangible efforts in enabling them to have competitive capabilities that contribute to developing their skills, and motivating them to raise the UAE flag in foreign forums.
She added that Emirati women have proven their presence in all fields, and their ability to achieve achievements, and are encouraged, expressing her hope that their participation in the “Formula 4” boat races will be a motivation for many female racers in the future.
On the positive impact of encouraging her father, Abdul Salam Fairouz, one of the nineties stars in Formula 2 races, she said: “I am proud of the great moral support from my father and his keenness to follow me and provide motivating advice to me during the last stage, which enhances my passion to work to show my best to achieve positive results in foreign competitions.”
